# 2025 R1 -- How to move data grid tab to the right permanently

Hi,

How can I configure Toad so that the Data Grid tab, instead of appearing at the bottom of the screen, will permanently appear on the right side — in all connections and in all editors? I tried moving the Data Grid to the right side and saved this desktop layout under the default name 'sql', but it didn’t help."

What you have done is the correct process, but there may be a Toad option stomping on you.

On the **Toolbars/Menus | Toolbars** page in Toad Options there’s an **Auto-save current desktop** option. If that is checked then you will need to perform the same steps you have done, but with only one Editor open.

When auto-save desktop is enabled, the last Editor to close will save its desktop, overwriting anything you have done in a previous Editor session.

Make sure only a single Editor is open and try again. Let us know how it goes.
