Alter Script warning

Hi,

when creating an Alter script that raises a “can produce data loss” warning, it would be useful to be able to see more detail on the warning. In a large change this would make it easier to find the possible problem(s).

kind regards
Malcolm

Hello Malcolm,

If you select Yes in the warning, the process will be finished, no details will be shown.

If you select No, a warning icon will appear at particular items in the States column. Point your mouse cursor at the icon to see the details. Decide if you like to ignore the warning or make some changes.

This issue is shown in the Convertor movie at:

Hope this info will help.

Hi,
This is not quite what I see.
If I leave the changes unchanged and Execute I get popup stating “2 warnings”. I click No. There are no symbols shown. Execute again gives me a script.
If I select the column datatype change I get the warnings and they are shown.

Yes, you're right. There is a problem. The warning icon has lower priority than the icon showing the change. We will look into this issue. CR # 47 872.

Thanks very much.
