#2

“Interface not supported” - trying to compile all invalid objects in a schema (packages, views, types, triggers)

Task “Compiling 14 object(s)”: ORA-01036 (…) - trying to compile some (14) of the objects above

This is just bizzare. Could you please give us the screenshot of sqlnav when this happens.

Thanks
Gwen

#5

Where you compiling the current script when this error appeared?

#6

Hi Gwen

I’m almost sure it was a bunch of triggers and I didn’t have any of them opened for editing.

Filipe

#7

So what kind of task were you doing when it appeared? were you browsing the objects? or Editing scripts?

#8

I was compiling several invalid triggers (due to a change in a package spec)

#9

What I did was creating a couple of triggers that reference a package. I made changes to the package spec to make the triggers invalid. I then used Object Search to search for all objects in the current schema that have ‘invalid’ status. Select all and compile. In the end, I didn’t get any error.

Any more clue that may help reproducing this?

Hi Gwen

I do not have a cue…
(since 4 of April I only got the error again in May)
I was hoping that the message could help find the reason (it points to a line in the code ?)
I would like to know if when that happens creating a support bundle would help find the bug (or even if some support bundle/trace file is created automatically).

Thanks
Filipe

Hi Gwen

Today I got this one when issuing a query after I loss connection and reconnected

09:31:54 The task is already running

Today I got this when trying to open a view.
the window opened with no code

With build 1489 I still get

14:56:25 Dictionary not assigned (D:\SQLNav_Source\Develop\ThirdParty\OraAPI\OraDictBase.pas, line 30024)

When compiling several selected objects in the find object window
(i think it’s not related with http://sqlnavigator.inside.quest.com/thread.jspa?threadID=9525&tstart=0)

Hi Filipe,

The new beta build (1498) should contain the fix for these strange messages. Instead of meaningless messages, proper error would be displayed. Obviously, if they’re valid bugs we will have to do more investigation to identify the cause.

Thanks,
Gwen

Hi Gwen

I got the in the console

12:28:49 Access violation at address 046535EE in module ‘sqlnavigator.exe’. Read of address 00000000

in error.log I got

v6.2.0 2009-07-14 12:28:49 Exception EOleException in module sqlnavigator.exe at 00B2CA20. Access violation at address 046535EE in module ‘sqlnavigator.exe’. Read of address 00000000.

I was not able to figure out (for 100% sure) what trigger that…but I was trying to compile more than 4900 java class that were invalid

Regards
Filipe Silva
PS: I have to kill sqlnav process (the compiling task was “aborting” for some time)
