Toad World® Forums

Code Complete and Table joins

#1

If this issue was mentioned before, then please ignore.

And as someone else said before, Toad has so many issues with the Code Complete
that this will be the last time I use Toad until a new beta is dropped and
someone from Quest says that the basic ability to use the Code Complete is now
functional. This is getting beyond ridiculous. I cannot even type a basic SQL
script and we are 5 versions into the lifespan of this application. This is
really sad.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for the information. I see these issues in 175 build but cannot
reproduce on my current Beta candidate build. There were a lot of changes in
this area for the last period of time, so I hope this was finally fixed.

Also these CRs were created from your report:

CR80804 Code Completion: duplication of joining column occurs inside Code
Completion window when write join query

CR80805 Code Completion: joining columns are in the top and in the middle in the
Code Completion list

Except your last sentence: Second, there are other field names that match
between these two tables and they are not showing. Why ?

Currently list of suggested to join built by equal columns with exact definition
(data type). But you can also chose any column for joining from all columns list
that is provided as well. See below:

Please correct me if I’m wrong regarding this question and provide
additional info.

Alex, maybe they do not show up because of the datatypes. I guess it makes sense
to only display joins where the field name and data type match. Now that I know
that, I will pay attention to this on the next beta drop.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.
