Create Triggers for Update of Columns That Uses Sequence question

#1

Hello,

When I generate my DDL Script from my model I use the Create Triggers for Update of Columns That Uses Sequence option on the Detail Settings tab. The Trigger names that are generated are too long. Can I modify how the names are generated? I’m pretty sure I remember being able to do this in previous versions of the Data Modeler, but I can’t seem to find it now.

Here is a description of the feature I’m looking for but its for TDM2:

Is this no longer available in TDM3? Or is my only option to rename the tables to something shorter so the generated Triggers names aren’t too long?

I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand well. Let me explain:

I define a sequence for an attribute (in the Attribute Properties dialog | Used Sequence (Trigger) combo-box).
I generate the SQL script and see the name of the trigger for the sequence has been automatically shortened up to 30 characters (according to Oracle standard).

Please, if I’ve misunderstood your question, write me more details. Thanks very much.

Regarding this, internal macros (CR 38 986) and patterns for triggers (CR 55 323) are planned.

Thanks very much.

OK, seems I didn’t have the latest and greatest Beta version installed. I downloaded and installed and it works as you mentioned.

Thanks for the help.
