Database Diagram - issus / proposal

#1

Hi
few issues / proposal about DD
a. there is lack of ‘zoom in/out’ function
b. There is lack of possibility to copy diagram / its part to clipboard
d. There is lack of possibility to display page borders. When printed few tables

has been split over pages [below you can see results when DD has been printed to
PDF]
There is also huge shift from page border.

e. There are different approaches to achieve information about object
[see screen shots 1. and 2. below] - at first approach I’ve been looking for
object details
in this right [2.] submenu, then I found it under different name and in
different place.

Btw: why there is no icons attached to menu items?

  1. [Object Explorer]

  2. Database Diagram - Object context menu.

Hello Motyl,

a. You could ‘zoom in/out’ using zoom percentage drop-down box. See attachment:

Ok. Suggestion: it would be easier if I can use mouse wheel

b. Could you please comment your suggestion to copy diagram to clipboard. What
do you mean under the ‘possibility to copy diagram to clipboard’?

To copy this tables

I have to make a print screen, then cut image in editor.

Using many other tools I can mark some objects then press Ctrl C, then paste to
editor e.g. Word.

You can try it on eg BizAgi - free process modeler [see sample below]

There is one more bad thing - I cannot send selected objects to Query Builder -
all the content of Database Diagram

is sent to.

What about this?

  1. [Object Explorer]

  2. Database Diagram - Object context menu.

Hello Motyl,

a. Unfortunately, TSS does not support possibility to change size by mouse
wheel. But I think we’ll support it in future.

b. I’ve created ER 82203 about your suggestion to copy diagram to
clipboard

There is one more bad thing - I cannot send selected objects to Query Builder -
all the content of Database Diagram

is sent to.

You can send selected objects to Query Builder

c. Context menu on Database Diagram has no icons. I’ve created ER 82204,
but I think this is by design. CCB will look at it

Thanks,

Anastasia

You can send selected objects to Query Builder

ok. but you can do it only for one object for a time. Imho this function shall
be available for all selected objects at once.

If I try to send several object [one by one], they are send to different [each
time new] Query builder.

What I’m talking is to select several objects, then send them to QB. If several
QB are active, system should ask to which.

Imho ‘send to QB’ [for all] can be replaced by ‘send to QB’ [for selected]
