Debugging - issues

#1

Hi,

  1. I read the manual to avoid some errors. It says:
" Enter or select an expression to use for the watch.
Note: This option is only available if you selected Automatic as
    the scope. "

so:

effects:

severity: high

  1. if I do not click directly in yellow area, I cannot type anything.
Usually, to edit field [eg in excel] I have to press F2. But nit here.
To edit / enter value I have to click cell by mouse. Veeeery uncomfortable.

severity: low

  1. When @vaiable is a table there is no possibility to get its values
[proposal : to show them as a hint]

Hi Marcin,

  1. It is not a bug.

Some expressions are not supported by Debug Watches. Help topic ‘Supported
Operators’ contains list of supported expressions.

If this point is important for you I can create enhancement request for support
CONVERT operation. And what types of operations do you need also for debug
watches?

  1. From our perspective there is no issue here. First column contains watched
expressions and new expression should be typed to this area. Second column
contains hint for placement of new watched expression.

  2. Do you want watch all table rows in the hint, right?

Ok. I missed this help item.

no, it is not needed.

I just [try to] talk about entering expression in first column. If Watch window
is focused I can move up/down with cursor.
But to enter expression in first column I have to switch cell into ‘edit mode’ I
cannot do it either by starting typing or by pressing F2
I have to click cell [yellow frame] and then type.

  1. Do you want watch all table rows in the hint, right?

yes.

Marcin,

I see the window below only when focus is placed in Editor window. It seems to
me that focus placed from Watches pane to Editor… I don’t know the
reason. Can you please double check the conditions?
