# Exporting to Excel 2007

Is anyone having an issue with exporting to xlsx format? Each time I try to export to my xlsx template TDA completely wipes out my spreadsheet. When I go to the file to open it the file name is there but the spreadsheet itself is gone, only the Excel main window remains. If I try to open the spreadsheet from inside TDA, I am asked to load the Excel software to my computer.

Here is the error script----------  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Attempted export 55 rows.  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Successfully exported 55 rows.  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Export Finished, click Timely Response monthly.xlsx to view file.  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.  
–Parameter name: firstCol or lastCol  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: at Quest.Toad.Workflow.Activities.Database.ExportWizardActivity.Execute(ActivityExecutionContext executionContext)  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Continuing after error  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:24 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Send email  
– 12/6/2010 11:10:25 AM: Monthly\_HQ\_Data.log: Email successfully sent

After this happened the first time and I have to re-build my spreadsheet and made copies, but so far this am I have destroyed 6 copies of the spreadsheet trying to figure out why the wizard is not taking my ranges.

Is this the excel file that we put the macro in to clear the data prior to export? That would explain the cleared file.

If that is the case we should concentrate on the argument out of range issue. Can you run script with verbose logging and send me the log?

No, this was a brand new file with out macros. I have three different scripts running together on this export so I am trying them one at a time to see if I can narrow down the issue.

I see this thread is a couple years old. However, we appear to have this same issue and I was wondering if there was a resolution to this. Thank you.
