How I can debug a stored procedure

I have Sybase ASE 12.5 and Toad for Sybase 1.1.1.726.
I need to debug a stored procedure. Toad Help did not make clear my task.
Perhaps, there is a link to some demo or manual.

Thank you in advance,
Raisa

I figured out the way to debug a procedure.
You need Toad version with debug feature which is really running.

It seems Toad for Sybase 1.1.1.726 Xpert Edition has debug feature.
There is Debug in main menu, dropdown menu on procedure also has Debug suggestion.
However my attemps to debug finished or with message “The selected object is not valid for debugging” or with nothing/silence/no actions.
In other words the feature is declared and it will be implemented in near future.

However Toad for Sybase 1.2.0.577 Beta Version does the job very well
The debug is really enable and easy.

Regards,
Raisa

Hello Raisa,

Glad to hear the debugger is working for you. Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

Thanks.

Hello Michael,

I'd like to accentuate meantime only Toad Beta version allows to debug a stored procedure, not formal version Toad for Sybase 1.1.1.726 Xpert Edition.

There is some problem to run debugging from dropdown menu on a procedure.
You need manually to change "declare" statements in extracted running code.
Otherwise you will get an error. I send the example.

Anyway Toad for Sybase is the great tool!!!

Thank you,
Raisa
