How to tell when an instance was restored

Is there a way to tell when or if a 10g (10.2.0.3) instance was last restored? We have an issue with a “broken” instance that was allegedly restored to a time when it was known to be good, and yet it’s still broken. Is there a way to confirm that it was indeed restored?

Morning Chris,

Is there a way to tell when or if a 10g (10.2.0.3) instance was last
restored? We have an issue with a "broken" instance that was allegedly
restored to a time when it was known to be good, and yet it's still
broken. Is there a way to confirm that it was indeed restored?
As far as I'm aware, no.

Unless you have logs etc from the restore, then I suspect you may be up
that famous creek. Sorry.

Cheers,
Norm. [TeamT]

That was my suspicion. I’m not a trained DBA, but I figured if TOAD isn’t
displaying somewhere then it may not exist. Thanks anyway Norm.

How was it recovered? I think you need to answer that question first.

Was it with Oracle via RMAN? There’s a chance it would store the recovery
information in it’s catalog, but I don’t know for sure. I’m
also wondering if you investigate the control file to see if you look at the SCN
to see what point in time you’re looking at.
