Issue with extended ASCII characters

#1

Hello,

If I run the following query (the u-umlaut can be typed as “press key, type 129, release key”):

select ‘ü’ from dual;

, then I see different output in 5.5.4.847 and 6.3.1.1838/6.4.0.1901 - cf. the attached screenshots. In the latter versions, there seems to be an additional character added…

This is not only a cosmetical problem, because if I export the output as table inserts, SqlNav 5.5 gives:

INSERT INTO dual
("‘Ü’")
VALUES
(‘ü’)
/

, while SqlNav 6.3/6.4 gives:

INSERT INTO dual (‘Ü’)
VALUES('ü

(the output is truncated at the extraneous character - maybe it is a NULL (0x00) character?)

Hi Dominique,

Thank you for reporting this issue. You did it just minutes before 6.4 goes to code freeze . This is a serious bug we introduced in 6.3, and we will fix it in the next build.

Regards,
Roman
