Hi

This may be more of a windows question, but it relates to functionality within
TOAD.

My right arm is currently in a sling due to shoulder surgery, so I’m
currently having to operate the keyboard and mouse with my left hand. As such,
I’m trying to use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible. One of the
hardest things to do with the mouse is ctrl-click selecting objects, for example
tables in the tree view on the LHS. I’ve found that if the tables are
contiguous, it’s fairly easy. Select the first table with the mouse, then
on the keyboard, hold down the shift key, and then press the down arrow and
select the rest of the tables. If I want to select a non-contiguous set of
tables though, I’m stumped. Anyone know how to select non-contiguous sets
of tables using keyboard shortcuts?

Just tried that. Wow, that’s tricky.

I don’t know of a keyboard shortcut, but what I was just able to do is
select a contiguous set, then come back and hold down the left control key with
my thumb, and operate mouse with the rest of my hand.

Click one, then Control-downarrow (not Shift-downarrow), and hit spacebar on the
other one(s) you want to select (still holding control).

Nate

Yup, that works. In fact, there’s another email from me somewhere in the
grand void of yahoo groups land coming which I sent 5 minutes after my first
email stating I’d just discovered this 🙂
