Locking a particular result set

#1

Hi,

No matter how high I set the “Maximum number of result sets from each query”,
there are some query results that I just want to keep there for the whole
session. I think it would be nice to be able to “lock” a result set tab, i.e.
new queries should skip this particular tab and overwrite the next one. Would
anyone agree with that?

Cheers

Yes. I have had that need as well. Doing comparisons between a baseline and
changes it would be nice to keep one tab and let the others rotate through the
recycle process.

I just implemented a new feature last Friday that will let you “pin”
a result set so that it will not be “recycled” unless you unpin it.
Look for it in the next beta drop.

Hi David,

You know how it is: you do some good work, and people always want more of it. I
now use your “pin result set” feature so often, I think to myself, it can surely
be improved. I think it makes pretty much sense if we could have these
additional features:

  • giving a name to/rename result set
  • move result set tab to left/right with mouse

I mean, some things that we can do in Editor tabs.

What do you guys think?

Cheers
Ercan

Hi Ercan,
ST74577 was created to track your request. Will try to address it in the next
release.
