Multi-byte char editing in script editor

#1

How can i type or use multi-byte char in sql script editor (not in data grid).
For example,

Select * from table1 where name = ‘漢字’

It was possible in Sql Nav V5, but not in V6.

Hi Ophil,

I’m aware that when you typed multi-byte characters in 5.5 you can see them but the editor itself doesn’t recognize it. i.e. if you run the query below it would not return any data because it doesn’t understand the character.
V6 only supports multi-byte in the data grid.

Hi Gwen,

When i run the query which include the multi-byte(2-byte Korean) characters in where clause, navigator v5.5 normally returns the proper data grid result.

In V6, I can not type multi-byte characters, but i can paste ( ex: from notpad) it into script editor. (The pasted multi-byte characters looks oddly, overlaped). Anyway, when i run the query, V6 also normally returns the proper data grid result.

Hi Ophil,

I tried to replicate in my sqlnav 5.5 but pasting it gives me gibberish (see screenshot).

Hi Ophil,

There’s a CR to address this issue in a future version. As of now, the only work-around would be copy/paste like you’ve already known.
