Not Impressed

#1

My background: several years using ERWin.

I have tried to reverse engineer an Oracle 10 database using both a logical and physical model. ERWin has an option that when creating a relation, does not duplicate the key columns with the same name - a very handy feature when reverse engineering. Although the documentation indicates that the TDM logical modeler will not create duplicate keys, that does not seem to be the case.

Hello,

In TDM3, only physical reverse engineering is supported.
TDM3 allows you to create a logical model and convert it to physical model.
In Logical models, keys do not migrate. However, when you convert your LER model to PER model, FK attributes are created automatically.
Please see the attachment.

Foreign Keys in TDM3
Please select Help | Manual | Index tab and type Foreign keys, click the item to read the topic ‘Understanding of Foreign Keys’.

If you have any questions, please write me back. Thanks.

Regards,
