Object browser issue!

#1

Hi,

I found [imho] dangerous issue.

In Object Browser [OB] I navigated to certain object [table, let say name X].

Then in sql I altered it next in OB I changed [clicked] table to x2, then back
to X.

and: OB had shoved outdated information about structure!

To update it I have to ‘refresh item’ [btw: it refresh all item S , does not?]

If several programmers work in one database, this case could generate some
mistakes.

btw: I think it is the reason Database Diagram works so slow -

application tries to cache all information about added objects

[imho necessary - this data shall be collected on demand]

But it is only my assumption.

Are you talking about changing an object in the Editor and those changes not
indicating in Object Explorer until you specifically refresh it
(F5/Shift+F5)? If yes, then it’s working as designed. Changes made to
an object outside Object Explore (doesn’t matter if the changes were made
in the Editor on the same computer in other application on the same computer or
from another computer) are not visible in Object Explorer until you specifically
refresh it. It’s important to mention that the changes are actually made
in this case, it’s just Object Explorer doesn’t see them until the
user refreshes its cache.
