Proposition with EDIT table option (ctrl+f2)

#1

When i edit table properties Ctrl+f2 (or dbl click), all properties of the table are loaded into edit form, of course partitionning/subpartitioning options are loaded too.
And I have two propositions in here:

  1. Opening table with large numbers of partitions/subpartitions take a long time. Can it be that te partition/subpartitions are loaded just when i click partitioning tab in window?
WHen user edit table for example to change column or storage properties, he not always needs to see partitioning properties. Time to open edit window will be much shorter.
    Think about it.
  2. When we open partitioning tab, there is no information about values of subpartitions, and subpartitioning method …
    Check this…

IT would be nice to see this modification in one of future builds, thanks.

Regarding your second suggestion - notice that requested information is currently displayed:

  1. a method follows table_name on Title Bar of the Table Editor, if the selected table has partitions,
  2. a method is referred to by column_name in “Partitioning” tab
  3. a value is shown in the column - you may need to re-size the column to see it,
  4. a value is also shown in hints, in DB Nav Tree, if you hover a mouse pointer:
    • over the “Table Partitions” node - you will see a column, on which partition was done, and drilling further down,
    • over individual partitions - you will see hinted values.

We are open for suggestions to improve UI, so if you have any, please let us know

Rgds,
Andrew

You are absolutely right with partitions, but i was talking about subpartitions.
Watch the attachement. This table is partitioned by DATA_DANYCH and subpartitioned by list with nr_reg_tech column. I can’t see subpartitionig method (list , hash etc.) and type of values inside subpartition.
Look at this part of ddl from this table:

PARTITION P_092005 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE(’ 2005-10-01 00:00:00’, ‘SYYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS’, ‘NLS_CALENDAR=GREGORIAN’))NOLOGGING****SIZ_LUT_DATA_200505( SUBPARTITION P_092005_SNULLE VALUES (‘0’) TABLESPACE SIZ_LUT_DATA_200505,SUBPARTITION P_092005_S0001_0001 VALUES (‘0001_0001’) TABLESPACE SIZ_LUT_DATA_200505,SUBPARTITION P_092005_S0001_0007 VALUES (‘0001_0007’) TABLESPACE SIZ_LUT_DATA_200505,SUBPARTITION P_092005_S0001_0029 VALUES (‘0001_0029’) TABLESPACE SIZ_LUT_DATA_200505,SUBPARTITION P_092005_S0001_2980 VALUES (‘0001_2980’) TABLESPACE SIZ_LUT_DATA_200505,

One more word in this thread:
In table edit form , when you want add subpartition, there is no place to set value for new subpartition. Of course for partitions this works ok.
