Hi - I’m just evaluating this product with a view to buying it and I’ve run into an issue.

I’ve created a model using the Reverse Engineering option and that seems to have worked fine. What I need though is to be able to update this model intermittently to pick up changes made to the database.

The only way I’ve found to do this so far is to use the Reverse Engineering option again to create another model from the database and then merge this into the original model using Simple Model Merge.

Unfortunately when I do this I lose all of the layout changes I’ve made to my original model.

Does anyone know a way to refresh a model from the database without losing the layouts?

Thanks

Dan

Dan,

You can try the Model Update feature. In Toad Data Modeler, go to Model | Model Update. Then you will simply connect to your physical database and add the changes into your diagram.
