Hi

At the end of the day I’m sometimes in the middle of working on something.
I have all the connections I need open, and the appropriate files open in editor
windows (different connections), all in the position I’ve been used to
working within for a day or so. Given our machines get shutdown overnight, I
have to shut down TOAD. Does TOAD have the ability to save all this information
so I can open TOAD and then quickly open all connections and editor windows I
had open at the end of the previous day?

No Mike, but I’m guessing if you put that idea in the pond you’d find it pretty
popular.

As a workaround, how about hibernating your PC and then when you wake it up it
the next morning, before you do anything else in Toad, go to Session -\> Test
Connections.

I’m on 9.1.0.62.

If it crashes or we have a powerfailure, it saves everything and offers you the
chance to save what you want.

But under normal operations, (I have multiple editor windows open with multiple
connections also) I save the work in each window as a text file with a name , a
date and which system/connection…

i.e. Production 07132010 student records. I save them all to a folder called
current scripts…

Then shut toad down before leaving.

What helps is all my connections are saved with names so I can open them
quickly.

I know this probably does not help… but it’s the only thing I have been
able to do. I don’t depend on TOAD to save anything for me… not even in
the sql recall which I only use in emergencies and it won’'t help you if
you have a crash.

That link is very old and this feature has been implemented already. In Toad's help search for "Workspaces" and see the About Workspaces topic.
