While logged into toad, I try to open Spotlight and receive ORA-12154 TNS error. I have also tried openening Spotlight and creating a connection by choosing the database via the connection string in the application but get the same error.
I found this a few days ago and reported it to the Spotlight product manager and dev team. They say it might be fixed in an upcoming point release. Thanks for reporting - because it helps when customers find these things as opposed to me being internal
Bert - Is that to say that I can’t use Spotlight until a possible fix in an upcoming release? Is there a work around?
This seems more like Spotlight having an issue with the TNS entry or connection string.
We would need to look at your client setup and determine where the issue is.
Can you contact Dell support with the issue and provide a traced Support Bundle?
