Hi all, the new TOAD 2025 R2 crashes with the following scenario: - Select a BLOB field from a table that contains e.g. a PDF (this is what you know ;-)) - Double klick the BLOB to get into the BLOB editor - Klick on the PDF button - good night The frozen BLOB editor window even covers the task manager, so that it might be difficult to kill the frozen TOAD. Hi Brad, I tried with two different PDF files, one was 90 kB and the other 100 kB, I think this "peanut size" 😉 should no be the cause of the problem. Meanwhile I could repeat the crash behaviour on two different machines. At the moment I klick on the PDF button, the BLOB editor window freezes... ---

For me, uploading PDF files makes no sense, because the crash happens with **any** BLOB containing a PDF file. In TOAD 2025 R1 it does not crash with the same PDFs. ---

Got it. Please enable logging in Toad Options, recreate the crash/freeze, generate Support Bundle and upload it here. Also, are you seeing any related errors in Windows Event Logs under Application? ---

Hi Rainer, The third party component that we use to display PDFs was updated between Toad 2025 R1 and 2025 R2. It's entirely possible that the new version has a problem with your PDFs that the old one did not. Is there any way you can send us a sample PDF? I don't think it's size-related, but maybe there is something in the content that is crashing the new one. Thanks John ---

Here are my support bundle and the Windows event log entry reporting the TOAD crash. Hope this helps...
