As we just started our Toad DB2 v6.2 beta program, we are rolling out new features. This post will highlight several of those new features in v6.2.
On our 'script' tabs we have added a 'Format' button so you can now see your SQL objects in an easy to view, customizable format:
We also have enhanced our Database Map Feature. Now we have a 'Max objects count' that allows you to control the amount of objects that will get loaded into the Database Map.
So now if during the loading of objects in the Database Map, the object count exceeds the setting value, you will get prompted as shown below:
Also, new in the Database Map in v6.2, you can now select one or more objects, right-click and remove those from the map display:
New for DB2 LUW in our v6.2 release, you can now compare a file containing DDL to your live database objects. This allows customers who have new DDL stored in files to synchronize those changes into their database. Access that new feature via: Tools - Compare - Compare DDL to live objects:
Then select your DDL file(s):
We currently have support for the following DB2 LUW DDL:
•CREATE TABLE LIKE
•CREATE TYPE DISTINCT
•CREATE TYPE ARRAY
For DB2 z/OS data sharing environments, we now display the data sharing member name when you hover the connection in the connection manager or the database explorer tab:
For DB2 z/OS when you are generating a REORG Utility statement you can now include the REBALANCE keyword to set new partition boundaries for partitioned tablespaces:
Stay tuned for additional posts about more new feature as the V6.2 beta progresses.
