Hello everybody, I am working with TOAD 9.7.2.5 installed on a Windows PC and ORACLE 10.2/11.2. I am wondering if there is any way to get TOAD display Russian character set properly? I tried to change my local machine’s character set to RU, but that didn’t do the trick. Found a little tutorial in the internet and tried that, too. Unfortunately that doesn’t work for me either. Can you upgrade? Toad is a full Unicode application since Toad 10 ---

Sure, I will ask my boss and fight for an upgrade if it works then. Right now I use the command line, but it is a shame to have such a great tool but can’t use it. Is there any official letter where I can refer to to make it reasonable to upgrade? Thanks, nellli ---

First find out when you bought v9.7 – your license comes with a year free of upgrades. You could still be in that window. To upgrade, you won’t need to buy a new license, just renew your maintenance, which is much, much cheaper for a majority of cases. ---

I just wanted to confirm that with TOAD 10.5 it works perfectly for me. Select unistr(’\0416’) as russian from dual; RUSSIAN Ж _vuvuzela_
