[toadss] How to login to TOAD using domain account

#2

Alex, as a side question on this … What ever happened about the ability to
specify a different domain at loging … Meaning, the one in the graphic below
work for my local system, but If I have a domain login such as ABC\hfreeman, how
do I specify this Domain\Userid pairing…

Again, this is a really important request that I have previously made and I
believe Henrik may have answered… So I just need an update for I believe
this was answered and I was out of pocket for a while.

Hank,

For now (and I believe that we have no other choice) you have to use “Run
as” option to use Toad under different domain accounts. See how it is
resolved on my machine:

I tested it on XP -32bit, W2k3 32-bit and W7 32-bit (I do remember that you have
W7 on your new laptop). Works fine.

Pay attention and don’t forget about “Allow multiple copies of Toad
to run” option under Environment->General section. Since Toad stores
option under users app folders separately - it should be set under second run
user. But I strongly recommend you to set this option in all users options you
want to run.

Hope it will help you in your case. Please report in any issues.

regards,

Alexander

Alex, thanks for the response !!!

I changed the option in Toad-ss as you suggested however when I went to perform
the run as another userI am having some difficulty getting this done on Windows
7-64 Ultimate for as you see below there is no handy place to perform a run as
other than Administrator.

Hopefully, I am overlooking something here . So throw me a bone here when you
can …

In Windows 7, hold down the left shift then right click on the icon. “Run as a different user” will be available on the context menu that pops up.
