Three times today I have been working in Toad and when I use the TRIM() function I am in the middle of typing the field I want to trim and Toad crashes. I used the function plenty of times with no issues but randomly it decides it wants to crash on me causing me to lose all my work. I would rather not have to code everything in notepad first so I was hoping there was something that I could do to resolve this issue.
I am using Toad for Oracle version 10.1.1.8.
You’re using five year old software - time to upgrade. The parser technology the editor uses to do many features has improved ten fold and many errors like this have long since been fixed. Not trying to be mean - but like Windows XP, time to move on and up to bigger and better toad’s 
Ha, I don’t doubt that for one second, I am just using the software my company provided me so I guess I need to figure out the upgrade process. I didn’t even realize that there is a version 12.X out right now and I am still on 10
