Version Control Show Perspective - Dropped Objects

#1

When an item is in source control and then later is dropped there doesn’t appear to be any mechanism to “Commit” that drop to source control. The dropped TABLE shows up in the “NotInView” status and when we check the checkbox the “Commit Changes” button becomes disabled. How are we supposed to sync up object drops with source control?

Hi,

The object is under version control and exists in version control repository only.

When a object is dropped in a client, this object status show in the client is become deleted. And the change can be commit in perspective page. Object status show in other client will not change.

So to sync the object drops, find the dropped object client and commit it. some times the client have to reopen the respected page to refresh status.

The other way is to drop it in source control server.

Kelly,

If you are saying that only the client that issued the drop command can see and commit the drop, that would not be consistent with how other database changes are handled. If that is not what you meant, could you please clarify your comments?

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

So sorry for confuse you.

Only the client which do this drop operation can commit the drop change. After commit, other clients can see this change in perspective page.

Other client should get latest version from version control server. Then the status can be consistent.
