Data base schema compare b/w IBM DB2 to DB2 LUW showing “Null “ difference for a table with exact match.

Steps followed

Connected to Mainframe ==> Reverese Engineering done ==> Converted to DB2 LUW

Connected to LUW==> RE done

Compared Converted Db2 LUW with LUW RE showing " Null" difference when compared both the tables tables are exact match.

Any one faced this issue ? your inputs on this is greatly appriciated .

Hi Rajesh,
do you mean that TDM show differences where converted model has attribute with NOT NULL flag and reversed has same attribute with NULL flag. Does the attribute in key? I'm not aware that in DB2 is possible to set NULL attribute in key. TDM is set to not allow this(it can be easy changed).

Therefore TDM during conversion automatically set attribute in key to NOT NULL. You can switch off this by select from
"Settings-Options-Physical Model-Allow Null Attributes in Keys".
Although you will select this option you will be still not able to set key attribute as NULL in TDM(if you need this let me know I will post instructions).

If you mean something other, please describe it more.
