File association mixup when Toad SS is installed

Hey all,

I have Toad for SQL Server (GA and beta) installed on my laptop alongside
Toad for Oracle (GA and beta). If I try to open a “.PKS” file from Winders
Explorer, it asks me to find a program to open it with. Toad-SS is
registered, but Toad-Oracle is not. So I surf to the Toad-Oracle EXE and
select it, but Winders only opens Toad-SS. Same for the beta EXE as well.

Thoughts? My workaround is to open the file from Toad-Oracle, but the file
association thing is sometimes more convenient.

Assuming you’ve tried View > Options > Windows and setting the
association there for PKS and Toad (Oralce)?

I didn't! But View->Options->File->General worked better for me. :slight_smile:
