Substitution Variables and SQL Errors

Using Toad 10.6.13

I have noticed that if I am using substitution variables (:myvar) and I try to
execute an SQL stmt that contains an error, the dialog box for the variables
will pop up with no variable names in them, so you cannot continue. In past
versions, you would still get the variable names and could fill in your values,
and then your SQL stmt would error out and you could see what and where the
error is. It makes it hard to debug your statement if you can’t get it to
run using substitution variables.

Of course, the other option is to not make any errors when writing your
statements.

Best regards,
Mike
