Is it possible to migrate settings from my beta version?

I have 4.6 (full version) and 5 (beta) on my pc and I have been using the beta
for some time so need the settings from that. When I start the new 5 full
version it only suggest 4.6 to migrate from.

You can do it manually. Just copy Settings.xml and Connections.xml (if you also
need connections from beta) from 4.6 location to 5.0 location. To identify the
location just go to Help > About > Application DataDirectory in ToadSS.

Is it possible to get my named filters (for object tabs in db explorer) from the
beta? I see Export filters, but no Import…

Thanks

Hi Eric,

Please use File|Open… and just open your exported file. Should work fine.
Please report me in any issues.

regards,

Alexander

That worked. Thanks Alexander!

Sorry, I meant “…from 5.0 beta location to 5.0
location…”

Igor.

What has changed in v5 for toad to start asking me for Web Proxy Credentials

The above box appears on each start-up and didn’t use to in v4

We now detect if you have a web proxy and ask you for its credentials if they
are needed…

This is to fix a bug (Or if it is a security fix) on Vista and later operating
systems where .Net would not pick up your default proxy credentials from IE
anymore like it does in Windows XP. Previously all web service calls we made
would just silently fail in this case.
