Unable to connect to any of the specified Cross Query Hosts

Hi,

I am using the trial version of TDP3.4 and I can’t create a new ‘Cross-Connection Query’ (ALT-X).

When doing this, the system is throwing the following error: Unable to connect to any of the specified Cross Query Hosts

It is also not possible to to connect to my Local Storage Connection: Unable to connect to any of the specified Local Storage Hosts

I have already reinstalled the trial version, but I that did not solve my problem.

Can you please advise?

Could you please check out the Task Manager that the following two processes are running after you tried to connect to Local Storage or execute x-query?

Try this solution.

Aleksey/Debbie: you suggestions did work!

But…

When I was building a cross connection query based on two Oracle connections, with 2 tables and an expected result of one row, so to my understanding the most simple query. After two hours of running I cancelled the query, without any result…

If I query the single tables it gives a result within one second…

What can be wrong?

How large are the two tables. Are you doing any filtering? can you post the Query?

To my understanding is the query ease and straight forward.

This is the query:

SELECT FSITEM.ITEM_CODE

, FSITEM.COMPONENT_IND

, FSITEM.DESCRIPTION

, FSITEM.CAS

, FSITEM.COMM_CODE

, FSITEM.STATUS_IND

, FSITEM.APPROVAL_CODE

, FSITEM.HOLD_CODE

, T_PROD_COMP.F_CAS_NUMBER

, T_PROD_COMP.F_COMPONENT_ID

, T_PROD_COMP.F_CHEM_NAME

, T_PROD_COMP.F_TRADE_SECRET_CHEM_NAME

, T_PROD_COMP.F_HAZ_FLAG

, T_PROD_COMP.F_PERCENT

, T_PROD_COMP.F_PERCENT_RANGE

, T_PROD_COMP.F_UNITS

, T_PROD_COMP.F_TRADE_SECRET_FLAG

, T_PROD_COMP.F_SARA_FLAG

, T_PROD_COMP.F_USER_UPDATED

, T_PROD_COMP.F_DATE_STAMP

, T_PROD_COMP.F_ORDER

FROM

G026D_PKGG026D (GPD03), GPD03.GPD03.FSITEM FSITEM

INNER JOIN

P316P_PKGP316P (WERCS).WERCS.T_PROD_COMP T_PROD_COMP

ON (FSITEM.ITEM_CODE = T_PROD_COMP.F_PRODUCT)

WHERE FSITEM.ITEM_CODE IN (‘333’, ‘259’)

Hi Aleksy/Debbie-

I am having the same issue with TDP 3.5 install (Unable to connect to any of the specified Cross Query Hosts). I have done what Debbie suggested to delete the guardian lock file and that did not help. However I noticed that the Hubproxy and Guardian processes were not running as Aleksey suggested. I manually started the hubproxy application from the file folder and it showed up in the task manager but the guardian application could not be started. It starts and immidiately shuts down. With the hubroxy running I was getting a different error when I tried to open the cross connection query builder (MYSQL Database Error: Attempted to read past the end of the stream). Is it possible that if the guardian application process could be started, we should be ok? How do I make the these process to start when TDP is executed? Or is there something else going on here…please your help will be appreciated.

Chris

Can you add " /log=all" on the command line of your shortcut and restart toad? Reproduce the error and then generate a support bundle and post. I am looking for more detail in the toad.log file. Also, have you recently change the buffer size of Local Storage? Sometimes making that too large can cause problems.

Hi there.
I just got an installtion of TOAD Data Point 5.0 and get the same error when I start a cross-connection query ("Unable to connect to any of the specified Cross Query hosts."). Any ideas?

Thorsten

First try starting Local Storage. We use this internal database when executing Cross Queries. If you are having difficulty starting local storage please open a support ticket and they will help you. They are very knowledgeable on this subject.
