I am not able to open new sessions from Toad. I can only connect to one database per TOAD session. If I need to connect to a different database I have to launch TOAD again and connect to the new database. When I click on File in the menu, all I can see is Open Action (instead of New). Is there anything wrong with this version of Toad? Please suggest.
Try Session/Connect or Session/New Connection (or the toolbar - I hardly
ever use the menu anymore…)

and I think under database or something – but not file
Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I was looking for. You mentioned you don’t use the menu anymore. Is there anyother way I can bring up new connections/connect to different databases?
Yep, but instead of just answering that question I’m going to point you to a
place you can get that answer and a lot of oth er useful easy ways to do things.
Select from the menu Help/Contents; then in the left side of the Help Contents
window, click the plus next to “ Toad Basic s, ” then “
Toolbars, Menus and Shortcut Keys, ” then “ Standard Toolbars,
” then click on “ Default Toolbar. ” Near the bottom is the
picture of the toolbar i con that will allow you to open a new Oracle Connection
to a database; and everything else on that screen is a handy way to do something
else useful.
