I installed a couple new fonts that I wanted to try out when using the code editor. One was from a ttf file and the other an otf file. Neither of them seem to work. When i select them, toad give me an error that the fonts are not supported. Why is this? I am currently using the Toad 3.6 Beta.
Here is one of the fonts: http://www.levien.com/type/myfonts/inconsolata.html

Thank you for posting in Toad World!
We apologize for the inconvenience. I was able to verify your issue.
I have created the Issue Ticket QAT-3987 to investigate into allowing 3rd Party Fonts.
Thank you for reporting this issue.

To alloyd_640:
I noticed that Inconsolata is an otf (Open Type Font). We humbly request a link to your preferred 3rd party ttf (True Type Font) that you would like us to test.
Thank you for your time.

Will toad be unable to support OTF? Or are you asking for a TTF as well? Here is a TTF font to test with.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
The issue appears to no longer be present in our release build: Toad Data Point 3.6.0.3276.
You can retrieve a copy of 3.6 through the following link: http://www.toadworld.com/products/toad-data-point/default.aspx
We would like to hear feedback from you if you able to use a TTF font on our Release Build of Toad Data Point 3.6! Unfortunately, Toad will be unable to support OTF at this time.
