Connection Error to DB2 Running On IBM iSeries

Can someone please help me out? I am new to DB2.

I am trying to connect to a database on our IBM iSeries server via Toad but this is the error I get:

ERROR [08001] [IBM] SQL 3008 1N A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol being used: “TCP/IP”. Communication API being used: “SOCKETS”. Location where the error was detected: “x.x.x.x.” Communication function detecting the error: “selectForRecvTimeout”. Protocol specific error code(s): “0”, “*”. SQLSTATE=08001.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Toad for DB2 does not support DB2 on iSeries.
