Create new snippet from Editor - not available

When trying to add a new piece of code as a snippet the menu option when right clicking on the code is not avaiable as advised in the Help menu

To create a snippet from the Editor and save to the Favorites folder

  1. Select the segment of code in the Editor that you want to save as a snippet.
  2. Right-click the code segment and select Snippets | Add to Code Snippets.
  3. Enter a name for the snippet.

Does anyone else have the same issue?

Many thanks

Karl

Hi,

it looks like help file is out of date. You can only create snippet from inside of Snippets Window, but not from the context menu. Let me know if it works for you.

Yes all good there Valentine, many thanks

Happy to see this is resolved in the Beta of v5.8

Using 6.6.0.963 (Freeware) there is no option to create a New Snippet from the New Snippets window. This is in a fresh install on Windows 7. All previous versions of TOAD were uninstalled and the system was rebooted prior to the new installation. So far I’ve not seen the ability to create a new snippet in ANY version since 5.6.x … any suggestions?

Hi Skua,

Create new Snippets not support Freeware version.

If you want to try, can down load Beta version here:
