DATE length specified as 7 (seven). Why?

I create a simple table with a column data type DATE.

CREATE TABLE mpa_test_table(date_column DATE);

And Nav shows a number 7 (seven) in the LENGTH column:

What does this number mean? Where does it come from?

Thanks for your report this issue, i found this issue also happen in the old version of Nav, we are still investigating for you.

And we have create a story SQLNAV-1812 for you.
