double click on object in object palette does not replace selection in editor window

Since upgrading to Toad 12.7 the behavior of double clicks on objects in the palette have changed.

Previously, when you selected an object in the editor window (e.g., a table name or column name) and then double clicked on an object in the object palette, the double clicked object would replace the highlighted selection. Now, the double click results in the object being inserted. This is annoying since you have to go out of your way to highlight and delete the object you wanted replaced.

I cannot find an option to change this behavior. Any advice?

Fixed for 12.8.

Any advice?

If using the object palette is preferred over just overtyping then you could select node in the OP, copy to clipboard, paste into editor.
