Enhancement on RE Wizard “Connection Selection”

Hi

I am wondering if the drop down listwhich is place at the bottom of “Connection Selection” stepsuppose to do something? E.g. Allow us to choose what type ofdatabase we are going to reverse engineering as user may made a wrongdecision in “database selection” step? Or it would be editable infuture, so that user can enter the name of Model/project or thereverse engineered database?

I would prefer it allow user to editas, at the moment the text inside that drop down list is actually thename of the reverse engineered model name.

Please let me know if you want me toexplain more.

Many thanks

Chi

Hello,

Yes, the drop-down list stands for script selection. Its description is:
“Select a script. All available options for selected db are listed below.”

(If you can’t see the text there, it’s caused probably by the Windows XP Style.)

What is the script selection for? - As a TDM 3 user you can create your own scripts for RE for particular databases and this way extend the RE function. The scripts will be listed right here.

  • This topic will be documented, so, unfortunately, there’s no source of info I can point you at now.

If you have more questions, please write me back.
Thanks.

Hi Vladka

<<(If you can’t see the text there, it’s caused probably by the Windows XP Style.)>>

I would be grateful if you could change the colour of the text, so user who use Windows XP could see the description.

It would be helpful, by any chance you could give me some further information about the type of script that drop down list can use, so I could play around it, and made my custom script for to RE some model

Please let me know if you want me to explain more.

Many thanks

Hello Chi,

I would be grateful if you could change the colour of the text, so user who use Windows XP could see the description.

We’re afraid, change of color would not help. It’s a bug in XP style that causes that object containing a text (label) is drawn behind the frame.
Nevertheless, we can get around this problem and will fix it. CR # 35 775.

It would be helpful, by any chance you could give me some further information about the type of script that drop down list can use, so I could play around it, and made my custom script for to RE some model.

I would like to ask you for patience. TDM 3 scripting options (and other features of TDM3) are being documented. As soon as the documentation is finished, it will be published in the community.
Thank you!

Regards,

Vladka
