Here’s a quick poll to get some of our user’s feedback on possible upcoming changes in Toad.

If you were to export your Oracle connections from Toad in an encrypted format, which would be preferred?

  • Encrypt only the database passwords while leaving the rest of the file in a readable xml format
  • Encrypt the entire file contents only to be readable again when imported by Toad

I would imagine, in this day and age of ever-increasing sensitivity to data security, that encrypting the entire file would be preferred, if not now, then in the future.

But you can always encrypt the entire file yourself when needed.
With encrypting the entire file during export you take away the possibility to edit connections manually before import.
