Huh? Grants screen messed up now.

Installed latest patch to Toad 10.1.0.7 with the DB Admin Module. Running Oracle
10.2.0.2.0.
I am logged in as SYSTEM. (checked that it had DBA role, which has “GRANT ANY
OBJECT PRIVILEGE” and “GRANT ANY PRIVELEGE”)

When I go to change the privileges of an table, ATTRIBUTE (but check with
several other tables) owned by a schema, PARTNER (checked other schemas)
–clicking on the little key in SB-- I get a pop-up window that says:

Yes, looks like a bug.

Any hope of it being fixed in the next patch release? This is a major bump in
the road for my group of DBAs. They are all awaiting my stamp of approval to
move to Toad 10. Thanks. – David A. Hicken UtahToad at gmail dot com There

Yes, I think so. Brad’s out for the afternoon, I’ll need to get his
stamp of approval tomorrow.

If security is your primary job in the database, then going from Toad to
SQL*Plus is really going to kill your productivity. I definitely feel
David’s pain on this one.

You are right, Steve, ya gotta know the command line. However, I am tasked with
certifying TOAD versions. 9.7.2.5 works. I don’t want to have to support
my entire DBA (and DEV) team with TOAD problems. I have enough problems
with Oracle! Hence, I don’t let them have it until I feel that it is
relatively problem free. For my own sanity! – David A. Hicken UtahToad

any DBA worth their salt would be able to use the editor window (or even
cough SQL*Plus) to set/revoke grants. If this is stopping them from
using a tool as useful as Toad, and particularly the latest release,
then maybe they are getting too reliant on the GUI and are losing sight
of the underlying mechanisms (i.e. SQL). Steve On Fri, Nov 6, 2009 at

Sanity is overrated. Recovery is an illusion. At least that’s what my shrink
told me.

This will be fixed in the next patch.
