In toad data modler when i generate script for oracle 9i it generates sql script where all the table names and column names are in double quotes. due to this i am not able to run the script on oracle8i . Is this apropriate in oracle 9i?

In Generate dialog, try unchecking Use Quotations on the Details Settings tab.
