Inconsistent date type when copying from toad to excel

Hi,

Weird as it may sound, when i copy my date column directly from toad data grid to excel, half of the dates get copied with Date format, and half with General format.

When I sort, it treats both the bunches separately. I have tried most of the suggestions I could find. I have tried to set the date format within Toad and the date format in Windows (Region & Locality).

however, it still does the same thing, when I copy and paste it.

Any suggestions?

If you are copying one cell at a time from a Toad grid, pay attention to if the cell is in edit mode or not (single clicking slowly twice would cause the grid to enter edit mode). That might cause a different data format to be copied to the clipboard.

Something else that may be a factor is if the date value has a time component or not.
