load object at carent into a non floating window

when I right click and do load object at caret into a window I want it to load into a new docked window in the editor. I am getting a non docked floating window. I also cant then switch between windows. I am sure I used to have this option. Can anyone advise if I can change this?

I am using 10.1.1.8.
