Message "0" could not be retrieved. Reason code: "6".

Toad for IBM DB2

Hi,

I just installed trial v 4.7.1 on a new machine. I imported the catalog and
connections from my old machine. I get the following error when I try to
connect:

ERROR [] [IBM][CLI Driver] SQL10007N Message “0” could not be retrieved. Reason
code: “6”.

Here is where it gets confusing… When I look at the Client Configuration
Wizard, there are no catalog entries, even though I successfully imported them.
Also, if I try to manually add one that I thought had been imported, it tells me
that it already exists. So where is it?

We believe your reported issued is due to some some environmental issue on your machine.

Can you provide a bit more information on your issue?

What type of OS is your new machine?
Does your new machine have any other DB2 COPIES installed?

  • If what versions are those? Can you perform a db2level command on each DB2 COPY and post those results?
    Can you open the DB2 Client configuraion wizard within Toad DB2?
  • If so what does it show as far as cataloged hosts\instances\databases?
    Did you have anyother DB2 or quest products installed on your new machine before your installed toad db2 4.7.1?
