Hi Wim,
We only throw that message when an ORA-00942 comes after a query against dba_obj_audit_opts. So I would guess that you really don’t have privs on that
view.

The Audit Statements checkbox has been there a while, so I think there is a bug here. I don’t think you should see that message, rather audit statements should
just not show in the SQL if you don’t have the privileges to get them. John has done some work in this area in the beta so most likely something has changed. We will have to wait on him to address this. He is on vacation but has been periodically checking
the groups. I’ll file this one away just in case he misses it.
I’m glad I could help… for now.
Thanks,
Brad

Where is that checked, I searched the options and could not find it?
If I start Toad, do a Describe of a view that is owned by the user that logs in and click on the tab for the script, there is no possibility to check or uncheck “Audit statements”.
And I get immediately that message.
And it is not the table. In 12.0 I don’t get that error.
Ok, took some time. I must first Export the DDL before I get the options to switch of “Auditing statements” and then the message goes away. Is that a new option, auditing statements?
As far as I know I never switched that on, but I could be mistaken.
Just found the button on the Script tab itself to change the options. Would be nicer if the message would be more instructive about what happens there?
But thanks for now, some suggestions for you and me is a happy user. (when the problem with variables and export data without filling the grid is solved too
Groetjes,
Wim

Hi Wim,
Maybe the difference is that “audit statements” is checked in script options for 12.1?

Problem
viewing the scripts behing a view in 12.1
Thread created by wimdelange_062
While I was using the Describe Objects window for viewing the script of a view, I got the following error:
[Window Title]
Information
[Content]
Access to the following is required: DBA_OBJ_AUDIT_OPTS.
[OK]
This does not happen in 12.0 and before.
Groetjes,
Wim
