I am not able to connect to any database, but my colleague are able to connect using Toad.
I am planning to buy Toad software so before that I am using trail version in order to check if I have any software issue.

There could be any number of reasons why you cannot connect. What errors do you get? Can you connect with SQL*Plus? Go to Help|Support Bundle and post the contents here.
