Here are a few things that I am very grateful for in the new version of Toad:
- TLS 1.3 support
- Dynamic performance views (V$,GV$) are now visible for databases that are only mounted. I was the one to ask for this and it is really helpful when I need to do a REGEX search of view names. There are so many that I have a hard time remembering what I want. It helps to be able to hunt/search for them in SB without having to connect to a separate database.
- RHS filter for User Roles. I keep having to go through the SYS user’s role grants to remove those created by our app releases. It helps to be able to filter for our role names.
- Suppress errors that were being thrown for legal queries of databases only mounted (DP Views). This was a huge bother in the r2 release.
- DBMS output new trim options. (Weird, though, that "trim trailing" is not the default.)
Quest has the best product support in the world, and I am very grateful for the speed of implementation of changes, fixes, and enhancements.
Cheers,
Russ
