Toad Beta 13.1 is being quarantined by Symantec EndPoint

Hi all

I am trying to install the new TOAD Beta 13.1. The installer initiates but is then quarantined bySymantec with a WS.Reputation.1 threat.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like you’re going to have to disable your virus protection to install the beta. Did this happen with the 13.0 beta?

It did not, but did happen earlier with 12.10 or 12.11. It went away after a couple of updates and I assumed something had changed in the file.

Disabling my anti-virus is unfortunately not an option corporate policy does not allow it.

Well I can assure you nothing has changed in the installer besides the product ID and version. Maybe symantec has to correct on their end by adding this to a white list

I’m sure your I/T department would be okay with temporarily disabling for an install.

If not, then request them to install it for you, at that point they will be faced with reality and likely will disable it.

Maybe that is what happened, they will white list after a number of installs report it OK.

I will wait.

Thanks for your time

Stuart
