How can you format numeric values to a set edit?

For example, dollar denominated values using something like $#####.##.

Is there more detailed documentation that explores the Toad Data Report? Frankly, it is about as good as any report writer I have used, but in the end with other applications, there was always that doorstop of book to refer to. Even 3rd party offerings would be of interest.
