Toad For SQL - Short Cut key is not working in v6.8 x64

Keyboard = Management Studio.

Start Toad (without connecting to SQL)

  • Paste in SQL

select code, to comment

Press Ctrl + K + Ctrl +C (Not working)

Put Cursor on the Line to Comment

Press Ctrl + K + Ctrl +C (Not working)

  • Connect to SQL

select code, to comment

Press Ctrl + K + Ctrl +C (Not working)

Put Cursor on the Line to Comment

Press Ctrl + K + Ctrl +C (Not working)

Delete all the pasted text and type in

**type in **

select *

from sysobject so

where 1=1

and so.name like ‘sys%’

Ctrl + K + Ctrl + C (Not Working)

Start a fresh query,

**type in **

select *

from sysobject so

where 1=1

and so.name like ‘sys%’

Ctrl + K + Ctrl + C (Working)

Have you try to reset option and try again?

It doesn’t work for me either. It didn’t work in 6.7 and it doesn’t work in 6.8. I always use the menu. Please note that I access Toad over RD on a windows 2008 R2 VM. Could that be the reason why it’s not working?

Dear Michael,

I’ve done the reset and it is working again.

Steps:

Tools > Environment > Keyboard

  1. Change: Current keyboard scheme: Default

  2. Click on the link Restore Defaults (Note: This is going to wipe out all the existing settings not just the keyboard related settings)

  3. Click on the Button Apply

  4. Change: Current keyboard scheme: Management Studio

  5. Click on the Button Apply

This seem to work for me, I am on Windows 10 Physical PC, not Virtual Machine.

Please note that following the instructions from the other poster, specifically step 2, is going to wipe out all the existing settings not just the keyboard related settings. Luckily I had some minimal configuration done.

I did set the Keyboard Scheme to Default (without resetting defaults) and now the shortcuts work.

Update. Restore Defaults wiped out my SQL Recall history. So my advice is don’t do it.

I am still finding that now and then the keyboard short cut is not working.

I have bought this license (from v6.8, I am running into so much trouble).

I think this build is very buggy.

Keyboard shortcut intermittently not working (Very annoy)

Intellisense not working (Very annoy)

Snippet is not working (Very annoy) - Reported.

SQL Format is only working, when you connect to SQL Server.

I am doing a lot of query now from Visual Studio Code (Light and Fast).

I don’t know when the bug fix will be release. I am really desperate on this.

Did you mirgate from v6.7 ? or just start v6.8 with refresh ?

Do you mind to send us your Support Bundle files to us and hlep us to investigate this issue?
